We welcome all non-Danish-speaking members to NorVin. On this page, we provide the most important information in English. Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to translate all our information, so we hope that you can stay informed by using translation tools for membership emails and newsletters.
About NorVin
NorVin was established by winter bathers in the Århusgade area, Nordhavn. The purpose is to create an attractive and locally rooted offer for winter bathers. We are a membership-based association under Nordhavn Sports Association – Nordhavn IF. Nordhavn IF is an umbrella organization for sports clubs in Nordhavn. We share the Activity House, including a sauna, with several of these associations. Therefore, decisions regarding use, operation, and investments are made partly by a Cross-Group representing all clubs in the Activity House and partly by the board of Nordhavn IF.
Memberships
Nordhavn Winter Swimming Club has three different types of memberships:
Membership WITH sauna access (White barcelet) – Waiting list
With a white wristband, you have access to the sauna, common room, toilet, changing room, as well as use of the secure access to the water.
To obtain membership with sauna access, you must be placed on a waiting list. There are approximately 2,100 people on the waiting list, with an expected wait time of 7 years.
Membership fee: 650 DKK annually
Membership WITHOUT sauna access (Red bracelet) – limited number (no waiting list)
The red wristband provides access to common rooms, toilets, changing rooms, and use of the safe access to the water. A limited number are offered each year on October 1st. If you wish, you can also sign up on the waiting list for the sauna. This requires extra payment.
Membership fee: 175 DKK annually
Membership with LIMITED sauna access (Blue wristband) – Waiting list
The blue wristband provides access to common rooms, toilets, changing rooms, use of the safe access to the water and sauna on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. To obtain membership with limited sauna access, you must be on the sauna waiting list. If you are already on the sauna waiting list and are offered a membership with limited access, you retain your place on the waiting list for the white wristband if you wish.
Membership fee: 350 DKK annually
Waitinglist for sauna
If you want to be on the waitinglist for a white or blue bracelet, you must pay a fee once
Fee: 200 DKK
To be a member
You can only sign up for membership and waitinglist from 1′ st of October to 31′ st of December. You have to be 18 years old.
Besides the membership fee there will be some extra fees:
- Setting up membership and bracelet: 300 DKK
- Introduction course for new members: 500 DKK (300 DKKi 2025/2026)
- If you combine membership with red bracelet with waitinglist. Extra 200 DKK

Other fees
If you loose your bracelet, you can get a new one for a fee: 125 DKK
Activities
NorVin offers a range of activities during the season, including lectures, workshops, Friday bars, dancing, Lucia swimming, and Fastelavn celebrations. See the website and newsletters where all activities are announced.
A Little History
We started as a small group who enjoyed starting the day with a dip in the Øresund all year round and founded the club on November 2, 2016. At that time, we had no facilities. In 2019, the Copenhagen Municipality inaugurated the floating activity house with a sauna, changing rooms, and a common area. By & Havn has been responsible for the establishment and construction of the house, which was later handed over to Copenhagen Municipality. The operation of the facility is managed by Nordhavn IF, while all major maintenance and improvements are the responsibility of Copenhagen Municipality.
